While once only select friends of the Carnegies were admitted into the house, it now welcomes thousands of visitors a year, who marvel at both the exhibitions and the building. |

DONNELLY, MARTIN J. CATALOGUE OF ANTIQUE TOOLS, 1997 EDITION 3000 TOOLS, 160 PP. 8 1/2" x 11"
This, our largest publication to date, includes more than 3000 individual lots in its 160 pages. All items are photographed and carefully described. A four-page comprehensive index at the back of the book lists entries both by manufacturer and type of tool to facilitate identification and appraisal. Although we produce our catalogues as a means to market our inventory of antique tools, we expend a great deal of effort to make then enjoyable to the reader. It was especially rewarding to find in our recent review in the Maine Antique Digest, the recommendation that our catalogue "...deserves a look as pure entertainment, even if you never intend to buy or sell an old tool." Couldn't have said it better myself. Price: $34.50 |

DONNELLY, MARTIN J. THE PRECISION TOOL ASSORTMENT FOUR EARLY CATALOGUE AVAILABLE HERE ONLY
These precision tool catalogues were reprinted in 1994 as part of an offering to induce a still-skeptical tool collecting public to give The Catalogue of Antique Tools a first look. We thought we had sold out. Recently, we discovered a small cache of perfectly preserved copies in the false bottom of a chest full of ivory rules. When this small batch is sold, there will be no more. Included are the turn-of-the-Century catalogues of the Sawyer Tool Company, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts; The J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company of Chicopee Falls Massachusetts; the Davis & Cook Level Company of Watertown, New York and a promotional booklet from the Brown & Sharpe Tool Company which recounts the early history of the micrometer caliper. Included with the batch is a copy of our booklet "An Introduction to Classic American Machinist's Tools", an overview of machinist tool making in the United States from the Civil War to the beginning of the Twentieth Century. Not much information in it, but lots of big words. I wrote it. Price: $0.00 |
