A RARE HANDLED BLOCK PLANE, No. 15 1/2, by STANLEY. The cutting iron is marked with the early "Arch" trademark on this clean example, which retains some 90% of its original black japan finish. The tail handle is missing all of its original finish and may be a replacement. This is a small chip from the rear rail, but it is otherwise in excellent condition.
