An extremely rare and very well preserved example of GREENE'S PATENT FOLDING RULE as produced by the Lowell Rule Company, Lowell, Massachusetts. The U.S. Patent for this mechanically complex rule was issued to William H. Greene of Lowell, Massachusetts on September 1, 1885. Its genius lies in a locking mechanism that allows one leg to slide along the length of the other leg, where it can be locked in place to function as a square or bevel. This rule has two nine-inch length brass bound legs. We are aware of one other example of this rule, which is a larger size. This example is in top condition, noting one dark stain on the underside.

A HANDLED PANEL RAISING PLANE by D.N. Garrison, Dayton, Ohio. This plane is clearly marked with the Garrison name and working location. It has a 3" width cutting iron and is in excellent collector quality condition. Garrison, who had learned planemaking in Cincinnati as an apprentice to planemaker Samuel Sloop, produced planes under his own name in Dayton, Ohio between 1850 and 1854.
