The ORIGINAL ACCOUNT BOOK AND LEDGER FOR THE YELLOW MILL, MOUNT PLEASANT, CONNECTICUT maintained by Allen Gregory of Mount Pleasant, Connecticut between the years 1803 and 1811. The book documents all manner of milling tasks performed for local personages during roughly eight years of operation of the mill. Many accounts with local persons including individuals with surnames Wheeler, Deary, Burnett, Brooks, Cook, Whitmore and more are included. The book is legibly written in brown ink and is in excellent condition for its age. This volume measures 15 1/2" tall by 6 1/2" wide. The covers are loose and most of the outer binding is missing, but the stitching is sound and the pages are in excellent condition. An intresting look at the role of a mill in rural Connecticut in the first quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
