Traces of the original paper label remain on the side of the lever adjust block plane, which was patented on April 27, 1875 by Elliot G. Storke of Auburn, New York. From the Collection of John and Janet Wells, Berkeley, California. In an unprecedented act of generosity, it was the express wish of John and Janet Wells that the proceeds from the sale of their extraordinary collection be divided equally between the Early American Industries Association and the Mid-West Tool Collectors Association.
