An EARLY PATENT KEYHOLE SAW by Wheeler, Madden & Clemson, Middletown, New York. This special purpose patented October 31, 1876 by Joseph Holden of Middletown, New York and assigned to Wheeler, Madden & Clemson. This is the finest example of this saw that we have seen. It retains its original blade that is marked with the W.M. & C. name as well as the patent date. The blade has a t-shaped tip designed to allow it to rotate in four directions in 90 degree steps. A great early patent saw in excellent collector quality condition. | |
