A rare RIGHT ANGLE BREAST DRILL, No. 16, by the Millers Falls Company, Millers Falls, Massachusetts. These were offered by Millers Falls between 1903 and 1910 only. This example appears never to have been used. We suspect that these proved unworkable in actual use and will provide access to the drill to anyone who believes he can demonstrate otherwise. An UNUSED ELEVEN-INCH WIDTH BLADE BROAD AXE by William Beatty, Chester, Pennsylvania. This pristine axe retains its original factory gold paint and it is imprinted with the distinctive bovine logo used by Beatty. There are some minor chips in the blade near the outside edge, but it is otherwise in perfect condition. The original hardware store grease pencil marking is visible on the face of the axe. An early TWO-FOOT, TWO-FOLD FOLDING RULE, No. 48, by Ernest Ritterhoff, Baltimore, Maryland. Ritterhoff was a Baltimore hardware dealer and the number conforms to the H. Chapin numbering system. The relationship between the Chapins and Ritterhoff was likely initiated by Philip Chapin, the brother of Hermon Chapin, who manufactured planes in Baltimore from the early 1830's until the late 1850's, when he returned to Connecticut.
