B1-3: Tullock, William, P., Washington: Patent Centering Square. Patented Nov.29, 1876. Original Patent Model. Length: 7.5 Inches. It mattered not to William P. Tullock, resident of the Nation's Capital in 1876, that the model he had crafted for a centering device would not easiely fit into a kit of carpenter's tools or that the protruding wings with which it was fitted would, in a practical world, be too susceptible to being broken or bent to last long on the job. No, what mattered to Mr. Tullock was that he had an idea- an idea for a "new and useful device". In a city full of ideas, in a nation full of ideas, in a year set aside to commemorate the Centennial of a great idea, William Tullock presented his device to the Patent Office and was awarded Patent Number 185,706 on December 26, 1876. We proudly offer the original patent model as submitted to the Patent Office for Mr. Tullock's idea. A piece of history. (FINE) $1550.00

Another Patent Model is Item C1-2
