Originally published in 1941, this book would be well worth having were it no more than a virtual walking tour of Charleston's great homes and buildings and their unique and decorative ironwork. That walking tour is contained within this well illustrated book, but so is much more, including a historical overview of the founding and settlement of Charleston and a history of some of the great blacksmiths of that city. Whether or not you're planning a trip to Charleston, we recommend this well written and well illustrated book.
