Lot 88. A SMITH PATENT STOVE LIFTER & CARRIER as patented and produced by Lester Smith, Troy, Ohio in accordance with the specifications of the February 17, 1880 United States Patent. This device, which was featured in a recent issue of The Chronicle, was designed to facilitate the movement of cast iron stoves by allowing two men to cradle the stove in this device and carry it stretcher-style to where it was needed.
