3. A WOOD'S UNIVERSAL HOLLOW AUGER by the A.A. Wood & Sons Company, Atlanta, Georgia. This extra clean example includes both the standard spindle for a brace chuck and the optional machine drive spindle. It is complete and in excellent working order. 50 - 100
4. A SIDE BOXED MOVING FILLETSTER MOLDING PLANE by Buck, 242 Tottenham Court Road, London, England. This wedge lock nicker plane is fitted with a screw adjust depth stop and is in excellent working condition. 30 - 60

45. A rare ORIGINAL BRASS PLATE FOR A NO. 43 COMBINATION HAND SAW by Henry Disston & Sons, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This unused cast brass plate is a great part to have on hand when one of the rare No. 43 saws becomes available with a damaged or missing vial cover. A great hole card. From the Erwin L. 46. A group of PATENT DUSTPROOF WATCH KEYS by Williams & Cook, Duluth, Minnesota, patented September 1, 1874. These are the first examples of this precision tool patent that we have encountered. 50 - 100
47. A MISCELLANEOUS HAND TOOLS OPPORTUNITY LOT including a Lowell hand vise, Crescent screwdriver, Clark's patent screwdriver, Jessop bevel, etc. 100 - 200
48. FOUR EXTRA CLEAN WOODWORKING TOOLS, all by Kunz, Germany. A "No. 80" scraper and three spoke shaves, all in unused condition, are included in this lot. 60 - 120
49. An EIGHT POINT CROSSCUT HAND SAW, No. D-8, by Henry Disston & Sons, Philadelphia, Pennsylania. Most of the original etching remains on this clean and well preserved example. 30 - 60
50. A GERMAN MADE "Nivellator" that is marked with the designation D.R.P.A., which we understand means "Patent Applied For" in German, albeit with the introduction of hundreds more syllables than would be necessary to say the same thing in English. It is in top condition in its original leather pouch and includes a level and inclinometer dial. We are uncertain as to the function of this tool, but we have seen enough films where they threaten to "...bring in the S.S." that we count ignorance as bliss. 51. A CARRIAGE MAKERS DOUBLE "PISTOL" ROUTER by J. & J. Gibson, Albany, New York. This partnership worked from ca. 1837 to 1838 only. We have seen few carriage makers' tools bearing the marks of Albany makers.f 50 - 100
52. An AMIDON'S PATENT BIT BRACE by C.H. Amidon, Buffalo, New York, patented April 20, 1880. This uncommon oversize chuck has been given the "B" rating for rarity in Ron Pearson's book on the American Patented Brace. 20 - 40
53. A 18" FORE PLANE, No. 6 C, by STANLEY. This "Sweetheart" era plane retains some 98% of its original finishes on all surfaces. From the Dr. Stephen Pierrel Collection. 50 - 100
54. A EIGHT-INCH BLADE DOVETAIL SAW by Macomber, Bigelow & Dowse, Boston, Massachusetts. In 1872 a great fire destroyed every hardware jobbing house in the City of Boston, resulting in the dissoution of many firms, including Homer Bishop & Company. The affiliation of Macomber, Bigelow & Dowse in the wake of that calamity led to the founding of the Bigelow & Dowse Company in 1884. Most of the original etching retains on this early saw that is straight, sharp and in usable condition. 50 - 100
55. An UNUSUAL WOODEN SCREW LOCK DEVICE of unknown function. The ends of each of the two blocks at the end are cut at 45 degree angles. 50 - 100
56. A HANDLED BOXWOOD COACH ROUTER PLANE having egg-shape handles and a fully steel-faced sole. This well made and well preserved tool has achieved a most appealing dark golden patina. 100 - 200
57. A CAST BRONZE CONCAVE SPOKE SHAVE marked with the designation "J. Morrill" on the cutting iron. 30 - 60
58. An EARLY ENGLISH SPIRIT LEVEL etched on the face with the designation "Thomas Foley 1864" and the additional designation "London". 60 - 120
59. A LIGNUM VITAE CAULKING MALLET in top collector quality condition. This well made and well preserved tool has the distincitve "ring" of a great working tool. 60 - 120

66. A PRECISION HAND DRILL, No. 2 A, by the Millers Falls Company. This high quality tool is in brand new condition in its original box. A great working tool in hardware store new condition. 25 - 50
67. TWO INTERESTING SMALL PLANES including a bullnose plane marked with the designation "Pat. Appld". And a nickel plated tail handle plane marked "No. 100". Both are in top collector quality condition. 75 - 150
68. THREE TIMBER FRAMING TOOLS including a fixed angle boring machine; a carpenter's slick and a two-inch width framing chisel. All are in excellent collector quality condition. 100 - 200
69. A QUIRK OVOLO WITH BEVEL MOLDING PLANE by William Marples & Company, Sheffield, England. Most of the original decal remains on this pristine molding plane by the most prominent of Sheffield's many toolmakers. 80 - 160
70. A CLASSIC LANCASHIRE PATTERN RABBET PLANE having a cast iron body. A previous owner has painted the body a royal blue color. 120 - 240
71. TWO EIGHTEENTH CENTURY MOLDING PLANES, both by Jo. Fuller, Providence, Rhode Island. Included in this lot are a round and quarter round, both fashioned from Yellow Birch and both having sheared wedge finials. 100 - 200
72. A SET OF SIX CAST IRON PATTERN MAKERS' PLANES. All have rounded soles of varius radii. Some have replaced wedges and two have been brazed at the throat. An interesting set in usable condition. 100 - 200
73. A SET OF TANG TYPE FIRMER CHISELS including sizes ranging from 1/2" to 1 1/4" in width. All are in clean and usable condition and could be put directly to work. 100 - 200
74. A WORKING SET OF EIGHTEENTH BRITISH PLANES and accessory tools. All of these tools, dating from the mid-Eighteenth to the very early Nineteenth Century, came from a single working set of tools. All are a bit dusty, but a judicious cleaning would restore them to presentable status. A virtual Seaton Chest beneath the dust. 200 - 400
75. A PRECISION MACHINISTS BENCH LEVEL by the L.S. Starrett Company, Athol, Massachusetts. This immaculate level is in essentially unused condition in its original wooden slide-top case. 50 - 100

78. An EARLY BRASS EXPANDING LANTERN designed for use with a candle. An early lighting device in excellent condition, noting that part of the canvas expandable sleeve has detatched from the base. 50 - 100
79. A ONE-FOOT, FOUR-FOLD FOLDING RULE by the Hubbard Hardware Company, Middletown, Connecticut. This uniformly dark yellow patinated rule was produced by this maker, who operated in Middletown between 1868 and 1874. 100 - 200
80. A fancy "PICTURE FRAME MOLDING PLANE by William Moss, Birmingham, England. This extra complex molder has has some minor worm damage, but is complete and sound. We have counted the worm holes and found an even number, confirming that the worm has exited the plane. 80 - 160
81. An unusual PATENT "BULLET CORK SCREW by the Williamson Company, Newark, New Jersey. patented June 1, 1897, interesting novelty. Novelties being what they are, we dare not speculate as to the logic of a corkscrew in this pattern. 50 - 100
82. A classic CONNECTICUT PATTERN HAND ADZE that retains its original greaves iron. This classic symbol of the Mid-West Tool Collectors Association is in excellent collector quality condition. 50 - 100
83. A MISCELLANEOUS HAND TOOLS OPPORTUNITY BOX LOT including marking gauges, a folding handle draw knife, plumb bob, combination square and a single trammel point reportedly designed for use by a one-armed man. 35 - 75

86. A STEVENS' PATENT RATCHET BIT BRACE by the Millers Falls Company, patented June 22, 1880. This uncommon brace is marked with the 1880 patent date. The Ron Pearson book on the "American Patented Brace" rates this rare brace with the "NS" rating, for no examples seen. 40 - 80
87. TWO INTERESTING WOODEN PLANES including a large "V" groove molder and a rare handled dust joint plane. 25 - 50
88. TWO NEW JERSEY TOOL MAKER BOOKS, both by Alexander Farnham. Both are in excellent condition and include much historical information about New Jersey toolmakers that is unavailable elsewhere. Essential items for the reference library. 30 - 60
89. A SIX-INCH BLADE DOVETAIL SAW by Henry Disston & Sons, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The blade of this uncommon saw is marked with the designation "Made for A.J. Wilkinson", the prominent Boston hardware dealer. 60 - 120
90. A FOLDING HANDLE DRAW KNIFE, No. 7, by A.J. Wilkinson & Company, Boston, Massachusetts, patented July 16, 1895. This uncommon folding handle draawknife is in top collector quality condition. 50 - 100
91. An early BARREL WANTAGE RULE by T. Aldridge, New York, New York. This rule has a uniform dark patina and is clearly marked with the maker name and working location. 30 - 60
92. A PRECISION ROTARY TOOL SET, No. 200, by Dremel, Mt. Prospect, Illinois. This set is in nearly new condition. in its original box. From the Dr. Nathan Geurkink Shop and Collection. 30 - 60

94. TWO SARGENT BRAND CRUCIFIXES, both No. 373, by Sargent & Company, New Haven, Connecticut. Both copper and nickel plated examples are included in this grouping. A Google search for the combination "New Haven" and "Vampire" received no hits--a testament to the efficacy of these religious symbols. 50 - 100
95. A rosewood handle "BILLINGS PATENT" SCREWDRIVER by the Billings & Spencer Company. The body of the tool is marked with the patent date of February 4, 1896. This example has been very little used. 80 - 160
96. An EARLY PATENT BRONZE BODY CALIPER by O. Stoddard, Detroit, Michigan, patented June 30, 1903. The element of genius incorporated in this later Stoddard patent is the semi-circular "wing" that allows it to be extended to 180 degrees. 60 - 120
97. A CLASSIC ENGLISH BRACE by Thos. Ibbotson & Company, Sheffield, England. The head of this clean and sound brace is turned from Lignum vitae. 60 - 120
98. A FANCY BRASS HANDLE CLAW HAMMER having a spiral pattern to the handle. A showy hammer in excellent collector quality condition. 75 - 150
99. TWO EXTRA CLEAN BENCH PLANES, both by STANLEY. A ca. 1950 No. 3 smoother and a No. 4 nine-inch smoother, "Type 11". Both are in clean, sound and usable condition. 40 - 80
100. An EARLY PATENT MITRE BOX by L.W. Jacobs, Tolland, Connecticut, patented December 4, 1917. The details of the maker and the patent information are cast on the base. This tool was later added to the Stanley product line. 60 - 120
101. TWO CLEAN AND USABLE HAND SAWS, No. D-8, by Henry Disston & Sons, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Included are examples of the ten point and eleven point crosscut types both in excellent working condition. 30 - 60

106. AN EARLY PATENT SAW SET made under the terms of a patent issued on August 13, 1861 to D.P. Foster of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. An uncommon early saw set in excellent overall condition. 40 - 80
107. A LOW ANGLE MITER PLANE marked "B.F. Woodman, Maker". Woodman is known to have been a carpenter who worked in Freemont, New Hampshire from 1872 to 1882. This imprint has been given the "UR" imprint in American Wooden Planes, Fourth Edition. 35 - 75
